About Suzanne Scarlett Bessisso

Coming from a half-Czech, half-Palestinian family, my life has always been filled with diverse cultures. This broadened my understanding of the world and also helped me use creativity as a form of expression from a very young age. I feel an extreme sense of passion, and joy when I'm challenged creatively in areas such as fashion, music, writing, and photography.

As a child, my parents encouraged me to do anything I set my mind to, which ultimately led me to express myself through fashion and doing kids' modeling. I got the opportunity to model for Max Fashion Dubai, Jean Paul Gaultier, and even ended up on the cover of Diesel’s AW 2010 catalog. From a young age, this taught me how to have a strong work ethic, to be competitive, but most importantly how to deal with losing.

Since then I’ve stayed involved in the fashion industry as much as I could while focusing on my studies and trying to explore different areas within fashion that interest me. I've done several photoshoots and fashion shows for an Armenian designer in Prague, Hermine Khalaf Pogosyan, a dear friend who's motivated me to step outside of my own comfort zone and push the limits of my personal style while teaching me about fashion from a designer's perspective. Hermine also gives me incredible insight into what it takes to create and advertise a brand on a national scale.

During my undergraduate degree studying Journalism and Communications, I started focusing on writing and reporting as a form of creative expression. I was part of the University's radio show - Soundbricks radio - where I produced, recorded, edited, and hosted several shows ranging from podcasts, interviews with guests, pop-culture reporting, and my favorite category - music. I played piano for 14 years, taught myself how to play the ukulele and guitar, and was the lead singer of my high school band, so my interest in and knowledge of music helped fuel my passion and creativity when producing that particular segment.

As a journalism student, I also got the opportunity to publish several of my articles in Prague Morning, Prague's biggest international news media. My favorite article I wrote is about Czech Republic's first NFT Gallery because it was the most challenging piece. I had to learn a lot about cryptocurrencies and NFTs in order to ask the right questions and to be able to write the article in a way that is understandable and interesting for everyone regardless of how much they know about the topic.

I am currently pursuing a graduate degree in Integrated Marketing at NYU and discovering different opportunities and fields I am interested in such as Content Marketing, Growth Marketing, Event Marketing, and Brand Marketing.

I would like to continue my career on a path that is challenging and creative whether that is in a field such as fashion, art or entertainment that I have a previous interest in, or something new to me. I am not afraid of taking risks and going out of my comfort zone. I like being challenged and pushing my limits because I believe that is the best way to learn and stay motivated.
